Kibondeni College Students Take on the Future Leaders Challenge Eastern Africa 2026
Four students from Kibondeni College of Catering and Hospitality Management represented the institution at the Future Leaders Challenge Eastern Africa 2026, held on 26–27 October in Nairobi. The regional event brought together hospitality and tourism students, educators, industry leaders and policymakers from across Eastern Africa for two days of innovation, learning and meaningful engagement.

For the four students, the experience was more than an opportunity to participate in a challenge. It was a chance to step beyond the classroom, engage with industry professionals, exchange ideas with fellow students from across the region and discover new possibilities within the hospitality and tourism sector.
The Future Leaders Challenge provides a platform for students to explore real issues shaping the future of hospitality and tourism, develop innovative ideas and present their perspectives to industry leaders. It brings education and industry closer together, creating opportunities for young talent to learn, connect and prepare for the realities of the workplace.
At Kibondeni College, we believe that preparing young women for successful careers goes beyond technical training. It means nurturing confidence, leadership, creativity, teamwork and the ability to think critically. Participation in initiatives such as the Future Leaders Challenge reflects this commitment, giving our students opportunities to apply their knowledge in new environments while strengthening their professional readiness.

Taking part in a regional platform of this nature allows students to appreciate the diversity, opportunities and evolving demands of the hospitality industry. Through interaction with peers and professionals, they gain valuable perspectives, build networks and develop the confidence to envision themselves as future industry leaders.
For Kibondeni College, the participation of these four students is a proud reflection of the potential of young women when they are equipped with skills, supported through mentorship and given opportunities to thrive.

Kibondeni College continues to prepare young women from disadvantaged backgrounds for meaningful careers through practical, industry-oriented hospitality training and partnerships that connect learning with employment opportunities.
We are proud of our four students for representing Kibondeni College and embracing an opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to conversations shaping the future of hospitality and tourism in Eastern Africa.
Their participation reminds us that the future of hospitality is not simply something to anticipate. It is something these young women are already preparing to shape.
At Kibondeni College, we are building more than hospitality professionals. We are nurturing confident women, capable leaders and a generation ready to redefine possibilities.
